Training and Behaviour Consultations
Clear, calm, and supportive behaviour help — built around your dog’s emotional and sensory needs.
Every dog is different. Their history, environment, sensory world, and learning experiences all shape how they behave. My role is to understand why your dog is struggling and to guide you through the steps that will help them feel safer, calmer, and more confident.
Here’s what you can expect when you book behaviour support with Dogaholics.

The process

1
Pre-Assesment Paperwork
Once you book, you’ll receive a detailed questionnaire. This helps me understand:
-
Your dog’s background
-
Their daily routines
-
Behaviour patterns
-
Sensory sensitivities
-
Household environment
-
Any triggers or concerns
This information means our first session is focused, efficient, and tailored to your dog from the very start.
2
Follow up questions
If anything in the paperwork needs more detail, I’ll get in touch. This ensures I arrive with a clear picture of what’s going on and what we need to prioritise.
3
Initial Behaviour Consultation
This is our first in‑person session. During this visit, I:
-
Observe your dog in their home environment
-
Assess behaviour, communication, and emotional responses
-
Carry out a sensory assessment
-
Identify stressors, triggers, and patterns
-
Begin gentle, supportive training where appropriate
-
Talk through what I’m seeing and why it matters
This session usually lasts 45–90 minutes, depending on your dog’s needs.
4
Personalised behaviour plan
After the consultation, I create a 10+ page written plan that explains:
-
The likely causes of each behaviour
-
What your dog is trying to communicate
-
How their sensory world affects their responses
-
Step‑by‑step guidance for each issue
-
Management strategies to reduce stress
-
Training exercises tailored to your dog
-
Safety and welfare considerations
-
What progress should look like
This becomes your roadmap — clear, practical, and easy to follow.
5
Follow-up visit
Once your plan is ready, we meet again to go through it together. I’ll:
-
Explain the “why” behind your dog’s behaviour
-
Demonstrate any training techniques
-
Show you how to support your dog day‑to‑day
-
Make sure you feel confident moving forward
This visit lasts 45–90 minutes.
6
On-going Support (optional)
If you’d like continued help, you can book pay‑as‑you‑go sessions at a pace that suits you.
These sessions can include:
-
Practical training
-
Progress reviews
-
Adjustments to your plan
-
Sensory‑aware handling
-
Multi‑dog household support
-
Confidence‑building work
Sessions range from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on what your dog needs.
For two weeks after your initial consultation, you can email me with questions, updates, or concerns. This ensures you’re never left feeling unsure or alone while you begin the plan.
